Shiatsu means in Japanese, finger pressure. It is a form of therapeutic bodywork developed in Japan in the early 20th century and is based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Shiatsu is applied to the entire body, leading to deep relaxation and well-being. It harmonizes the flow of energy while maintaining homeostasis: the physical functioning of the organs.

It affects the individual in a physical and mental level and it is therefore indicated for tackling a wide range of dysfunctions such as chronic pain, anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, indigestion, infertility, constipation etc.

It works very well on the musculoskeletal system by relieving pain or stiffness in the neck, waist and extremities, improving physical fitness, posture and flexibility.

Shiatsu treatment includes pressure techniques with the thumbs and palms along the meridians (the energy channels of the body), stretching of the muscles and tissues and mobilization of the joints. It is also combined with other beneficial treatments such as Suction caps, Sotai -therapeutic gym – Ampuku – abdominal massage – and nutrition tips.

Shiatsu is addressed to all people of all ages as well as professionals such as athletes and dancers. The receiver is lying on a mattress on the floor wearing comfortable cotton clothes.
